INTO THE MIST

One morning in Texas, my mother and I woke up to very thick fog. It felt like we were in a Stephen King novel. I half-expected an interdimensional monster to come out and attack us. If that happened, I would not be surprised.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!

I am on a New Year’s cross-country road trip with my beloved mother. So far, we went to Quartzite, Arizona and visited my relatives in El Paso, Texas. We are aiming to reach North Carolina at the end of the trip.

BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT

I got this very pleasing gift for Christmas. It is toilet paper that has all of Trump’s Tweets printed on them; every lie and every insult. This gift gives me a golden opportunity to properly wipe away Trump’s lies and insults. I will be saving this for either Trump’s impeachment or when Robert Mueller reveals the full extent of his investigation. I can’t wait!

THIRD FANTASY BOOK (PROLOGUE and CHAPTER 1)

I have finished the prologue and started the first chapter of the third consecutive volume of my Magnus Dynasty Saga. After seeing authors start their own stories with a bang, I will be doing the same with this one. I started with a foreshadow of a forthcoming age of darkness and the childhood of my main character. I am digging the project so far and I will keep you updated on any further developments.

NEW READING: PEARL OF WISDOM SAGA

I am in the middle of reading a fantasy trilogy called The Pearl of Wisdom Saga. Like Game of Thrones, it portrays the story of a realm that is divided by infighting for the throne. Like The Lord of the Rings, it is about a quest that could save the world from a great evil. I have read the first few chapters and I am liking it so far. I have experienced shapeshifters, sea monsters, rescues, and attempted assassinations. All of that was in the first few chapters! The writer of this trilogy clearly knows how to start his stories with a bang! I will continue to read it and let you know when I finish it.

THE FATE OF HOUSE STARK

After further analyzing the plot leak for the final season of Game of Thrones, I think I have found a deeper meaning to the bitter part of the ending. Based on the plot leak, House Targaryen will survive through Jon Snow, Daenerys, and their children. However, because Jon was never a Stark to begin with, his children cannot claim the Stark name and will instead inherit the Targaryen name. After fulfilling his purpose as the three-eyed raven, Bran Stark will die and the legitimate male bloodline of House Stark will die with him. Neither Arya nor Sansa show any signs of producing an heir anytime soon. Because Arya is so independent, she is not the kind of person to settle down and start a family. In addition, Arya was stabbed where her womb would be by the Waif while she was in Braavos, which could have destroyed her ability to have children. Also, we have no idea what Ramsay Snow did to Sansa during their marriage, which could mean that Sansa cannot have children. Overall, the bittersweet ending of the story would be that the Starks get their revenge against their enemies and save the world from the White Walkers, but their name and bloodline will die with them. This will be how one of the oldest living dynasties in Westeros would die.

CHANGELINGS

One of the darkest mythical creatures would be the changelings. Changelings were infamous for two things: as shapeshifters and as child snatchers. Changelings would steal a human baby, assume the baby’s form, and take the baby’s place in the crib to be raised by its parents. The parents would never know what happened to their child and they would not know that the child they are raising are not human. The changelings’ nature reminds of the cuckoo bird, which switches eggs from other birds with their own. Also, their nature reminds me of the T-1000 from the Terminator films. The T-1000 was able to shapeshifter into the form of any human it came in contact with. I am thinking of including changelings in future fantasy books and I will depict a frighteningly political version of their child snatching nature. Changelings can be ideal spies and saboteurs due to their shapeshifting powers.

ANCIENT VENGEANCE

I had an interesting thought about the elves in my fantasy world. At first, I thought of making elves extinct, but now I am toying with the possibility of some surviving the invasion of the Homantians thousands of years ago. However, will these last elves be the same benevolent creatures they were centuries ago? I can imagine the atrocities they witnessed and the hatred they accumulated corrupted them into dark elves. Compared to high elves, dark elves are pure evil and are frightening practitioners of dark magic. What if at some point these dark elves are awakened and start plotting their long-awaited revenge against humanity? I think I will be adding hints, clues, and foreshadows in the third book and maybe start a sub-series that focuses on the dark elves’ blood-stained return.

INSPIRATION: EDWARD II

For the beginning of my third fantasy book, I will be depicting the protagonist of The War of the Gilded Beasts (Kemrin Magnus) as an older man. In the second book, Kemrin received a series of wounds that will never fully heal and leave him in a state of constant debilitating pain. Also, he will be haunted by the knowledge that what happened to the previous Emperor could also happen to him. The constant pain will make him murderously bad tempered and his fear of being overthrown will make him paranoid and irrational. Due to these factors, I will be basing his later reign on the reign of Edward II. Edward II was neither in pain or paranoid, but his incompetent and spineless leadership led to him being overthrown by his wife, Isabella the She-Wolf of France and her lover Roger Mortimer. After he was overthrown, Edward II was replaced by his son Edward III. In the end, Edward II was sodomized to death by a white-hot poker by his wife’s men and his dying shrieks could be heard throughout the castle. Overall, Kemrin’s reign will end in blood as his son becomes the new Emperor of Gradaia.

THIRD FANTASY BOOK BLUEPRINT

For the past month, I have been formulating a blueprint on how the story of my third fantasy book will be told. I have been brainstorming various events both big and small that will take place throughout the main character’s reign. There will be wars, political intrigue, tragedies, and triumphs throughout the story. I am eager to get started on the actual book and I will keep you updated on any developments.
