I have been listening to news updates on the Coronavirus outbreak, but it is clear that we have no coherent leadership in our federal government. Trump and his cronies keep spreading misinformation as usual. While I do appreciate the governors and mayors doing what they can to combat the situation across the country, I am unimpressed and angry about the Trump Administration’s complete failure to handle the Coronavirus pandemic. They waited two months to do something about it and by then it was too late. Because Trump and his minions have spent their entire Presidency spreading misinformation and lying about pretty much everything, they have absolutely no credibility, which is why their investors in the stock market are freaking out. Now, Trump is lying his ears off and sugarcoating the situation because he knows that with every case of Coronavirus death or infection, the stock market will continue to go haywire and his chances of being reelected will disappear. This whole thing could have been avoided if Trump didn’t disband the pandemic team two years ago. The only reason he disbanded them is solely because they were set up by Obama, which means disbanding them had nothing to do with policy; it had to do with Trump’s ego and the delusional belief that he could do better than Obama. Now that he disbanded the pandemic team and failed to form a replacement, we are in our current chaotic situation. Also, Trump is using every trick in his book to try and deflect blame from his poor response to the pandemic such as blaming Obama and the democrats, attacking the media, and even resorting to racism by calling the Coronavirus either “Chinese Virus” or “Kung Flu.” All of his usual tricks may work in normal times, but those tricks will only make things worse as the pandemic spreads. Overall, the political, economic, and social atmosphere of this country is more chaotic than ever. All of this dysfunction and mayhem is not supposed to happen in the United States. We are only in this situation because we have an inexperienced, irresponsible, pathologically lying man-child in the White House supported by a political party that was too weak, spineless, and corrupt to remove him from power when they had the chance. If they had removed Trump from power during the impeachment trial like they were supposed to, none of this would be happening and we might have someone more competent in charge.
As the Coronavirus spreads like wildfire, my family and I are under self quarantine. We are watching movies and shows on our streaming services, I’m spending more time writing, and my mother is spending more time quilting. Even though we are spending more time together as a family, there are several drawbacks to our current state. We can no longer go to our favorite places such as restaurants, movie theaters, and baseball stadiums. We go on occasional trips to the grocery store. When we go to the grocery store, we are notice that all the meat and bread products are picked clean and everyone was stockpiling on junk food, but the fruits and vegetables were largely untouched. I still don’t know why people are stockpiling on toilet paper. I can no longer go to my usual job or go to school until this crisis is under control, which disrupts my sense of normalcy. Overall, I feel like I am in a dystopian story or zombie apocalypse story.
It looks like Trump is willing to do whatever it takes to distract the public from his impeachment problems, even if it means starting a war with Iran. He broke another promise to his base that we would have no more wars in the Middle East. He broke this promise to save himself politically and he doesn’t give a damn how many destructive things he must do to distract people from his impeachment problems. Trump may have dodged all-out war for now, but he is so unpredictable that he could spark tensions again at any moment. If it means distracting the public from the impeachment news, Trump can and will kick the hornet’s nest again. The Iranian general was a bad man who needed to die, but Bush and Obama did not kill this man for a reason. Due to his high standing in Iran, killing this general has turned him into a martyr that could lead to another war in the Middle East. Trump and his cronies can’t even come up with a coherent explanation for killing the man and their story changes everyday. To make matters worse here in America, the False Republicans LOVE war because it is the perfect fuel for their propaganda machine and keeping their corrupt and greedy party in power. War has done that for the False Republicans in the past and it is likely it will this time. We are on the verge of another war and it is all Trump’s fault!
I heard that Moscow Mitch and his cronies have no intention of making the impeachment trial in the Senate a fair trial. Moscow Mitch openly said that he was working hand-in-glove with Trump to strategize the so-called “trial” and that he will NEVER be an impartial juror. As a member of the Senate, Moscow Mitch’s job is as a juror not a lawyer. He is not supposed to strategize with the defendant. He said in a press conference that he has the votes to resolve the trial without support from the Democratic party. He is terrified of allowing evidence and witnesses into the “trial.” It just shows that Moscow Mitch and all who follow him are terminally ill with greed, cowardice, and political megalomania. Moscow Mitch and his followers are living proof that there are no Republican Senators or Representatives left with either a conscience, spine, guts, or balls. They are willing to be Trump’s whipped lapdogs if it means keeping their precious political power at all costs.
Something intriguing happened during the impeachment hearing yesterday. During the hearing, Trump used Twitter to blast the testifying ambassador and smeared her reputation. While it is true that the President can appoint ambassadors, it is not the right of the President to smear their reputation and threaten them afterwards. This ambassador was threatened before she testified and now she has been threatened by Trump in public on Twitter. Trump thought this would make him look tough to his followers or distract the public from the fact that his advisor Roger Stone has been found guilty and could face 20 years in prison. However, all he succeeded in doing was create another article of impeachment for not just obstruction of justice, but also witness intimidation. Trump also undermined the False Republicans’ defense for him, which is something he has been doing often these days. He can’t help himself because his ego is too big and too fragile, which makes him too unpredictable for his False Republican minions to defend coherently.
I remember hearing something on the news that publishers made a deal with John Bolton to write a book about everything he knew about the Trump Administration. They tasked him with releasing the book by election day next year. I am thinking of doing the same thing with my new superhero book because it is not just another book, it is a political statement. I am choosing this deadline to release my new superhero book because it will reflect the times we currently live in. In the aftermath of Watergate, Marvel Comics released a Captain America graphic novel where the main villain was the President of the United States himself. I am hoping to achieve something similar with my new work in the aftermath of the Trump Impeachment. Apparently, I have now become a political activist as well as an author! Who knew?
Guess what? A bunch of former Republicans trolled the House while they were interviewing a witness for Trump’s impeachment and they refused to leave for five hours. Despite that, the testimony continued after the stunt was over. This just proves how desperate the “Republicans” have become with this impeachment. With so much damning evidence mounting, they can’t defend Trump’s actions anymore so they decide to attack the legal process. This stunt was an act of desperation. It further shows they have made Trump the linchpin to their party’s political survival. Without the linchpin, their party will fall and crumble and they know it. If he goes down, he is taking all of them with him. That is why they are taking such frantic actions.
