WRITING UPDATE: SEQUEL SERIES (CHAPTER 7)

I have started the next chapter of my sequel series and this is where I will introduce the most eccentric of my main characters. This chapter will also demonstrate how a futuristic civilization will have sports and athletics. I am planning to make the character to be a source of comic relief in the story as well as the adrenaline junkie of the team. In addition, he will be the kind of sports fan who completely loses his mind when his team loses the game. I am eager to explore this chapter and I will keep you updated on any further developments.

STAR WARS EPISODE VIII PREDICTIONS

Because I am such a devout Star Wars fan, I have analyzed everything that happened in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and made some predictions of what we might expect to see in Star Wars Episode VIII. To begin with, let us look at the current state of the galaxy in the aftermath of The Force Awakens. The Resistance may have destroyed Starkiller Base and a percentage of the First Order’s forces with it, but the First Order destroyed the capital and fleet of the Resistance’s main ally, the New Republic. With the New Republic’s government leaderless and its territory defenseless, the Resistance will have to try and assimilate whatever Republic assets remain before the First Order starts conquering Republic Space. In general, the war to come is going to be a power grab to see how much of the galaxy these two factions will acquire before resuming their struggle.

Another factor to consider is that even though the Resistance destroyed Starkiller Base, the First Order knows where the Resistance base is and will send a fleet instead if the Resistance does not evacuate. In the New Expanded Universe, Resistance’s predecessor, the Rebel Alliance did the same thing after they blew up the first Death Star in A New Hope. Therefore, the Resistance will need to find a new base to continue the fight against the First Order.

As for the Knights of Ren, we will probably see Supreme Leader Snoke in the flesh and hopefully get a taste of the dark side power he wields. Also, we will see how much more powerful Kylo Ren will become due to Snoke’s training and he might become even more worthy of his grandfather’s legacy. Also, we may get a closer look at the inner workings of the Knights of Ren such as their hierarchy, philosophy, and dark side powers. I have a feeling that Kylo Ren may have been a small sample of what the Knights of Ren are capable of.

As for the Jedi, we will see more of Luke Skywalker, the last of the Jedi. In the Original Expanded Universe, Luke Skywalker became a more powerful Jedi than Yoda ever was. If this version of Luke will be anything like his Original Expanded Universe version, then we will see the wrath of God personified as he unleashes the Force upon the First Order and Knights of Ren. Also, if Luke decides to train Rey, then we will witness her growth as a Force-user and we will have TWO Jedi fighting with the Resistance instead of just one.

These are my main predictions of Episode VIII and I cannot wait to find out if I am right. May the Force be with you . . . always.

WRITING UPDATE: SEQUEL SERIES (CHAPTER 6)

I am now on the sixth chapter of my sequel series and this is where I will introduce the most aggressive of my main characters. I drew inspiration for this character from the concept of the super-soldier and he will be the kind of character who loves to fight, which will make him a loose cannon. In addition, his introduction will shed some light on the poorer aspects of a futuristic civilization. I will keep you updated on any further developments.

WRITING UPDATE: SEQUEL SERIES (CHAPTER 5)

I have started the fifth chapter of my sequel series and I am rather intrigued with this particular chapter. The reason for this is because it will introduce the female lead of the series and reveal details of the artistic aspects of a futuristic civilization. The female lead will be a love interest for one of the other main characters and she will serve as the heart and soul of the team. Also, I am giving her powers that would match her joyful and empathic personality. I look forward to how this chapter will develop.

CONCEPT: SUPER-SOLDIER

I have always been intrigued by the idea of superhuman soldiers with abilities that are weaponized and specifically designed for war. In several cases, a small squad of super-soldiers can do what an entire battalion of normal soldiers cannot. I often wonder if an army of super-soldiers would be divided into various categorizations rather than focusing on one kind of warrior. Just as the United States military is made of different branches such as the Navy, Army, and Air Force, a super-soldier army would have multiple specialized units. A diverse army of superhuman soldiers would be a force to be reckoned with and I might toy with the idea in future works.

CONCEPT: REAL-LIFE JURASSIC PARK

I made an exciting discovery! It looks like some people have found the means to create a real-life Jurassic Park! Because birds are the direct descendants of dinosaurs, some scientists are planning to retro-engineer bird embryos back into dinosaurs starting with chickens. Because I am a dinosaur fan, I hope this happens in my lifetime because seeing a living, breathing dinosaur has been on my bucket list. Some people would say that a real-life Jurassic Park could end badly like the movie, but if these retro-engineered dinosaurs are the same size as the birds they are made from, then they might be more manageable.

SUPERPOWER: RADIATION MANIPULATION

One of the most destructive forces known to man is radiation. Because of the havoc it can cause, I looked back on the various characters who possessed the ability to control radiation such as Captain Atom from DC Comics to Ted Sprague from Heroes. I am thinking of creating a series of characters who possess this ability and they will play a significant role throughout my sequel series. Just thinking of the destruction they will cause gives me chills!
