ALWAYS THE QUIET ONES

“Beware the quiet man. For while others speak, he watches. And while others act, he plans. And when they finally rest… he strikes.”

I have started to become privy to the extent of Attorney General Merrick Garland’s plans regarding the FBI raid against Trump as well as countering the MAGA outcry against the raid. The man has effectively tricked the GOP into demanding the release of the search warrant for the raid. Also, he has given Trump until tomorrow to object to the release of the warrant and yet Trump remains mostly silent. Essentially, Garland has struck Trump so hard and so fast that he has left Trump stunned and frightened of him. I had my doubts about Garland for some time, but I completely underestimated him in ways I am only beginning to fathom.

THE TRUMP MADNESS

As investigations into Trump intensify, I start to notice that he and his closest followers are mentally breaking down even more than usual. I always wondered what drew his cult to him and I think I found the answer in a comment on Youtube:

“Trumpism is by definition, a shared psychosis. A shared psychotic disorder is a rare type of mental illness in which a healthy person starts to take on the delusions of someone who has a psychotic disorder. For example, let’s say your spouse has a psychotic disorder and, as part of that illness, believes aliens are spying on them. Trump convinced his followers that President Obama spied on him. People with psychotic disorders have trouble staying in touch with reality and often can’t handle daily life. The most obvious symptoms are hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t real) and delusions (believing things that aren’t true, even when they get the facts). Shared psychotic disorders can also happen in groups of people who are closely involved with a person who has a psychotic disorder (called folie à plusiers, or “the madness of many”). For instance, this could happen in a cult if the leader is psychotic and their followers take on their delusions. The most obvious example of this is what happens in a cult, if the leader is living with a mental illness and transfers their delusions to the group. In a larger group setting, this might also be termed mass hysteria. Scientific American asked Bandy Lee, a forensic psychiatrist, to comment on the psychology behind Trump’s destructive behavior, and what attracts his followers to him. “TheReasons are multiple and varied. I have outlined two major emotional drives: narcissistic symbiosis and shared psychosis. Narcissistic symbiosis refers to the developmental wounds that make the leader-follower relationship magnetically attractive. The leader, hungry for adulation to compensate for an inner lack of self-worth, projects grandiose omnipotence—while the followers, rendered needy by societal stress or developmental injury, yearn for a parental figure. When such wounded individuals are given positions of power, they arouse similar pathology in the population that creates a “lock and key” relationship. “Shared psychosis”—which is also called “folie à millions” [“madness for millions”] when occurring at the national level or “induced delusions”—refers to the infectiousness of severe symptoms that goes beyond ordinary group psychology. When a highly symptomatic individual is placed in an influential position, the person’s symptoms can spread through the population through emotional bonds, heightening existing pathologies and inducing delusions, paranoia and propensity for violence—even in previously healthy individuals.” Destructiveness is a core characteristic of mental pathology, whether directed toward the self or others. When mental pathology is accompanied by criminal-mindedness, the combination can make individuals far more dangerous than either alone. In my textbook on violence, I emphasize the symbolic nature of violence and how it is a life impulse gone awry. Briefly, if one cannot have love, one resorts to respect. And when respect is unavailable, one resorts to fear. Trump is now living through an intolerable loss of respect: rejection by a nation in his election defeat. Violence helps compensate for feelings of powerlessness, inadequacy and lack of real productivity.”

THE FATE OF CAPITOL RIOTERS

“This is no fantasy, no careless product of wild imagination. No, my
good friends. These indictments I have brought you today, specific
charges listed herein against the individuals – their acts of treason,
their ultimate aim of sedition… These are matters of undeniable
fact.”

Jor-El, Superman (1978)

I have been keeping tabs on the Capitol rioters who were arrested in the aftermath of the January 6th insurrection. These individuals came from all walks of life from business owners, lawyers, police officers, substitute teachers, and military officers. As a result of their treasonous actions, many lost their jobs and over five hundred and counting have been charged. A lot of them will be spending the rest of their lives in prison. One example would be this 25 year old man who is facing up to 91 years in prison for his role in the insurrection. In this sense, a lot of these rioters have essentially thrown their lives away due to participating in the Capitol riot. And for what? For some orange man-child who thinks he’s a god? Pathetic! A lot are unrepentant for their actions because they have been incurably and hopelessly brainwashed by Trump and his constant lies. What they fail to understand is that if Trump truly cared about any of them, he would have pardoned them before leaving office. He used them as a means to an end to try and keep his power no matter the cost even if it meant burning democracy to the ground. Some even threw childish temper tantrums during their hearings, which signifies that they were overly privileged individuals who did not like it when they had to face the consequences of their crimes. Judges across the country expressed concern after interacting with these individuals in court. Because these traitors were utterly radicalized, the violence they created is going to get worse as long as Trump and his allies continue to lie about the 2020 election. As scary and unsettling as the insurrection was, I fear it was just the beginning. Trump may be out of office and facing multiple criminal investigations, but his influence is going to continue radicalizing these traitors for a long time.

CAPITOL HILL RIOT EXCUSES

In the days since the seditious insurrection at Capitol Hill, I have been observing the excuses the rioters were making to justify their treasonous actions. The most common excuse was saying they were performing their First Amendment rights. Really? Let’s make a list of things that resulted in their “First Amendment rights”. Five people dead (including a police officer), government property destroyed, trespassed, and ransacked, a legitimate session of Congress disrupted, many government officials and lawmakers (including the Vice President and the Speaker of the House) threatened, and American democracy was almost destroyed and replaced by a chaotic dictatorship. How are any of these crimes connected to the First Amendment? Also, my sister and brother-in-law live literally a mile away from Capitol Hill. That means if the chaos got any worse, they would have been caught in the crossfire. Fortunately, they managed to escape before things went too far, but it was too damn close. Almost destroying the country is bad enough, but potentially threatening the lives of my family is off the charts. I do not care what kind of excuses these traitors come up with. They nearly overthrew the government and put my loved ones in danger. Unforgivable!

CAPITOL HILL RIOT AFTERMATH

I have been hearing all kinds of stories of the Capitol Hill rioters who were arrested. From what I hear, the guy who wore a buffalo horn helmet could face 25 years in prison if convicted. A lady tried to give Nancy Pelosi’s stolen laptop to the Russians, but her ex-boyfriend turned her in. An 18 year old girl turned in her mother and uncle after seeing them on social media in the riot. One guy threatened to kill his wife and children if they turned him in. Some of these lunatics, freaks, and traitors were unrepentant of what they did while others feel duped by Trump (especially when he didn’t pardon them), and the rest realized too late they crossed a big red line. These extremists were grown adults and they were not prepared to suffer the consequences of their crimes. So far, the FBI is making steady progress in rounding up the traitors. Hopefully, we will get them all eventually especially since they were arrogant and stupid enough to post videos and photos of themselves during the riot. These seditionists need to be made an example of or they will do something more extreme in the future. The chaotic, divisive, and corrupt reign of Trump is finally over and it is time for these people to accept it and move on.

MAGA VS POLICE

I found this video that shows an extremist group known as the Proud Boys clashing with police in Salem, Oregon. Like many Trump supporters, the Proud Boys were not happy about Trump losing the 2020 election so they arranged a rally in Salem. However, because they were armed and Trump’s seditious rhetoric was firing up the Proud Boys, the police were deployed to disperse the crowd.

I am glad that these extremists were quelled and put back in their box. They and groups like them are threatening to destroy our democracy. We have come so close to a dictatorship, but prevented that by beating Trump in the election. However, we still have to deal with his chaotic legacy, which will plague us for years to come.

The FBI and other law-enforcement agencies predicted that right-wing extremists like the Proud Boys would become a serious threat to the country if they were not dealt with. Examples include Kyle Rittenhouse murdering two people during the Kenosha protests and the 2020 boogaloo killings. These are only a few of many examples of right-wing terrorism that has been committed in just the past year. The probability is high that more examples will continue unless these extremists are put back in their box.

This development was pretty much inevitable regardless of the election outcome. If Trump won, they would feel emboldened. If Trump lost, they would feel cheated. Clearly, what we are experiencing throughout the country is the latter. These groups desperately need to be broken out of their “Trump is God” mentality before they cause more damage. One of Joe Biden’s main challenges will be finding a way to put the genie back in the bottle.

POST-TRUMP CONCERNS (PART 1)

Even though I am glad Trump lost the election and his attempts to overturn the election are failing one after another, I have one big concern about the post-Trump world. I have been hearing that Biden will not pursue an investigation into Trump and his administration. I find this concerning because we have got to investigate the full extent of Trump’s corruption and the amount of damage he has caused. A Presidency like Trump’s must never be allowed to happen again. We came dangerously close to losing our democracy and being ruled by a dictatorship. If Trump is not held accountable, someone who is just as bad or worse will rise to power and finish what Trump started.

Rudy GIuliani: THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN!!!

During one of his attempts to stage a coup in favor of Trump, Rudy Giuliani revealed he had super powers. He was melting in front of the press conference like a human ice cream cone. This was due to the fact that he hastily put dye in his hair and was sweating his butt off as he desperately tried to help Trump in his plot to overturn the election. Later in the press conference, Trump’s other lawyers were pitching all kinds of absurd conspiracy theories about the election. They even blamed Hugo Chavez for Trump’s defeat even though Hugo Chavez has been dead for seven years. When asked if they had evidence, the lawyers snapped at the reporters. This is because they have no evidence of voter fraud; not a shred of proof. The complete lack of evidence was why Trump’s lawsuits were being thrown out of one court after another. No evidence means no case. Trump’s cultists may not care about evidence, but the courts do. In fact, over the weekend, a judge from Pennsylvania went nuclear on Rudy Giuliani and the rest of the Trump defense team. This demonstrates that when Trump filed his lawsuits, the courts were annoyed. Now, after over two weeks, the courts are ticked off and want the clown show to end.

MAGA MELTDOWNS

It has come to my attention that Trump supporters are not taking his loss in the 2020 election well. One example is Kenneth Copeland, who had a nervous breakdown in front of his entire congregation. When he was faced with the reality that Trump lost the election, Copeland’s brain blew a fuse and he started laughing maniacally like the Joker. This goes to show that several Trump supporters are having trouble dealing with the fact that their cult leader is not as infallible as they were led to believe. Apparently, like Copeland, some of these cultists gambled everything they had (including their sanity) and lost. This is what happens when you put all of your faith in a false messiah.

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN!!!

It’s all over! Joe Biden is officially the President Elect of the 2020 election. In a few short months, we will finally be rid of Trump as President. Some people may think that Joe Biden will be a trash President and I agree to some degree. Biden’s decisions may be trash and he may make the same mistakes again, but all of that would be a hell of a lot better than dealing with Trump for another four years. When I voted for Biden, I voted for the lesser of two evils. The past four years under Trump have been full of nonstop corruption, deceit, incompetence, chaos, and death. With Biden, we can at least return to a sense of normalcy, get a better handle on the Coronavirus, and eventually go back to our regular lives.
