WATCHMEN SHOW

I am about to watch the series premiere of Watchmen, based on the most celebrated graphic novel of all time! I have read the original graphic novel and seen the movie so I am intrigued about finding out which direction the show will take.

As a great man once said, “The world will look up and shout ‘save us’ and I’ll whisper ‘NO!!!'”

NEW LORD OF THR RINGS AMAZON SERIES

First_Single_Volume_Edition_of_The_Lord_of_the_Rings

I recently discovered something amazing and unexpected. It turns out that Amazon will be creating a new television series that will be based on The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It will not be three separate films like the Peter Jackson trilogy. Instead, it will be an ever expanding series with a currently unknown number of seasons. I don’t know how they can top the Peter Jackson trilogy because it set the bar so high. On the other hand, Tolkein’s original work included many beautiful things that were not in the films. Hopefully, we will see more of those beautiful things in this new series. I have my fingers and toes crossed as I await the first trailer.

BATMAN 1943

After watching the documentary, Superheroes Decoded, I became aware of the old 1943 Batman short films. After watching it, I can instantly see how low budget it was. Batman’s cape kept wrapping around his arms when he fought and the ears on his cowl were flopping everywhere. It was kind of funny. Still, I enjoyed this part of the constant evolution of the superhero genre and would recommend it to the die hard Batman fans.

GAME OF THRONES SEASON 7: SEA BATTLE

Tonight, I got to see the epic sea battle we were promised in Season 7 of Game of Thrones and it was epic! Euron Greyjoy (who I nickname the Mad Kraken) is definitely closer to what he was in the books. His insanity and ferocity in the battle was so crazy that it was easy to like him as a villain. The Sand Snakes have also been improved in this one scene after their character was ruined beyond repair by the producers. Also it was interesting to see the psychological issues the battle was giving Theon Greyjoy because it looked as though he was regressing back into Reek. Overall, this was a VERY satisfactory first battle for the season and I am more than eager for more. On a side note, Euron Greyjoy and Cersei Lannister may have won this battle, but the War of the Five Kings will belong to Daenerys Targaryen even though this one battle destroyed her alliances with Dorne and Yara Greyjoy.

GAME OF THRONES SEASON 7: THE WHITE WALKERS

The season premiere of Game of Thrones blessed us with a glimpse of the growing strength of the White Walkers. Their numbers have grown to the point in which their undead army can be seen as far as the eye could see like an unholy ocean of death. To make matters worse, the White Walkers have now added at least three undead giants to their army. We all saw how much effort it takes to kill a live giant so re-killing an undead one is going to be much more difficult. So far, we don’t know if the White Walkers have undead bears or ice spiders that are as big as hounds like in the books, but due to the vastness of the undead army it is likely they are there somewhere waiting to strike. I cannot wait to see the full lethality of the White Walkers this season as they continue to march towards the Wall to invade the realms of men once again. Like Euron Greyjoy, the White Walkers are the storm; the first and the last. Soon the War of the Five Kings will be over and the new War for the Dawn will begin.
