KAIJU: KARMATHAUR

Permit me to give you a little overview of my Kaiju, Karmathaur. Karmathaur is the result of a genetic engineering experiment conducted by a doomsday cult known as the Anakims. The Anakims got their name from one of the Biblical giants in the Old Testament. Karmathaur was made from salvaged prehistoric DNA and spliced with the DNA of modern animals. After the zygote (fertilized egg) was created, it was exposed to massive amounts of radiation in order to stimulate growth. Upon being sent into the sea, the zygote spent five years growing into a large egg before hatching into its larval form, which was fifty meters long. Shortly after making landfall, Karmathaur wrapped itself in a cocoon and spent 24 hours gestating and growing further until it was more than twice its size. In its adult form, Karmatahur is over one hundred meters tall and weighs one hundred thousand tons. It walks like the Cloverfield monster, on all fours with its front legs being longer and more jointed than its back legs. Its roar sounds like a metallic screech before turning into a deep rumble.

As for its abilities, Karmathaur is armed to the teeth with various abilities that were the result of its creation. To lessen gravity’s effects on its girth, Karmatahur has an organ below its spine that creates an anti-gravity energy field. Not only does this energy field allow Karmathaur to move faster for its size, but it also serves as a form of protection from all forms of physical assault such as bombs and bullets. A pair of glands in its throat serve as storage for its large amounts of radioactive energy. Defensively, this organ can filter radiation throughout Karmathaur’s body to stimulate regeneration from any wounds it receives. Offensively, the energy in these glands can be filtered through Karmathaur’s mouth to fire a focused beam of radioactive energy at its target. Before firing this beam, Karmathaur’s gills glow red with scarlet sparks crackling across them. The beam is powerful enough to melt through its target before setting the remains on fire.

The blood in Karmathaur’s veins act as a form of mutagen. That means the radiation in its sweat, blood, and tissues can mutate any life form around it, which was what happened to any sea life that swam near Karmathaur. Karmathaur’s flesh also has another ability that will be explored in future works. Overall, I am proud of creating my own Kaiju and look forward to depicting more of its adventures.

REVIEWS NEEDED: KARMATHAUR

k2

With the new and improved version of my Kaiju novella released, I am eager for reviews to find out if it is a good enough improvement from the original. Is anyone interested in reviewing this work on Amazon? If so, please give me your email and I will send you a PDF file version of the work. Thank you and Happy Holidays.

2018 WRITING RECORD

With 2019 around the corner, I can breathe a sigh of relief. At the beginning of this year, I set a goal for myself to write, edit, and publish two works in a single year. After the initial failure of Karmathaur, I was concerned I did not meet my goal. Thankfully, I salvaged the situation by refining it and republishing it while publishing The War of the Gilded Beasts. With these two works, I have broken a new personal record. Last year, I challenged myself to write, edit, and publish one book in one year and I achieved that. With this year’s challenge completed, I am now seeking a new challenge for myself. I will keep you updated on any updates.

GOODREADS RATING: KARMATHAUR

I discovered that the revised version of my Kaiju short story, Karmathaur, got a four star rating on Goodreads.com. This is a considerable improvement from the original version, which only got a two star review on Amazon. This pleases me because it demonstrates that my efforts were worthwhile in revising the story. I look forward to what else may come of my new and improved Kaiju novella. Wish me luck and I will keep you updated.

MUTATED ISOPOD

Isopod

In my expanded Kaiju short story, there are mutated isopods. What sets these mutants from their normal relatives is that the largest normal isopods are two and a half feet in length and are solely aquatic. These mutated variants were about five feet long, amphibious, have jaws and claws that are sharp enough to cut through human flesh and bone, and exoskeletons that are durable enough to withstand gunfire. These creatures become a serious problem for human survivors while the Kaiju known as Karmathaur rampages in Los Angeles.
