In addition to her usual corrections, my editor was kind enough to provide what she called a “style sheet”. This style sheet helped me know which words should be capitalized and which ones should not. This has been one of my main concerns for this particular story. It also helped me keep track of various world building aspects to the story, which is useful since the story has so many moving parts. Also, she looked back at my previous fantasy books and made sure there was a coherent and cohesive sense of continuity for the story. Overall, my editor went above and beyond this time and I look forward to working with her again on my next project.
That’s helpful. I am waiting on my first round of edits for my urban fantasy novel. It is a new editor for me, so I am excited to see how it goes.
