As I brainstorm the outline of my spin-off fantasy trilogy, I have decided what historical events to base it on. If The War of the Gilded Beasts was based on the War of the Roses, then this new trilogy will be based on the War of Scottish Independence and the Viking invasions of Anglo-Saxon England. Like the Viking invasion of Anglo-Saxon England, Gradaia will be invaded by a foreign enemy and monarchies fall one after another. Like the War of Scottish Independence, a small resistance groups will engage in guerrilla warfare and unorthodox tactics to drive away the occupying enemy. I will seek out documentaries that can give me the inspiration I need for this new project.
