The Tudors may have been England’s most notorious dynasty, but the most powerful English dynasty would be the Plantagenet Dynasty. The Plantagenets ruled England for over three hundred years from Henry II in 1154 to Richard in 1485. Despite being Kings of England, the Plantagenets ruled more of France than the French did. As a family, the Plantagenets have had a well-deserved reputation for being ambitious, ruthless, and short-tempered. In the third volume of my fantasy trilogy, I will be drawing inspiration from the reigns of Henry II, John I, Edward II, and Richard II. I will be modeling certain events in the main character’s reign after events that happened during these kings’ reigns. I will even include classic Plantagenet personality traits in the rest of this emperor or empress’s family.
