In order to increase attention and anticipation for my fantasy book, I am in the process of creating a trailer for Numen the Slayer. It will be about a minute long and will provide the right atmosphere of the books. I may not receive it until eleven days have passed. Wish me luck and I will share it with you as soon as it is ready.
I discovered that with my new publisher, my fantasy book is going to expand farther than any of my books combined. In addition to being sold on Amazon and Amazon Kindle, this book is going to be sold to all available online and actual bookstores. Also, every library in the United States and Europe will have it on their shelves. This makes me even more exciting as I continue to expand my growing writing empire. For now, all I have to do is wait for my editor and beta readers to do their thing. I will keep you updated on any further developments. Wish me luck!
Here is what the front, spine, and back of my fantasy book’s cover is going to look like.
As a science fiction fan, I often wondered what kind of technologies would be required to make the ideal cyborg. In my opinion, their arms and legs would be replaced with cybernetic ones in order to enhance their upper body strength and running capabilities. Their internal organs would be replaced by synthetic ones that provide more stamina than organic organs. Their living eyes and eardrums would be replaced by lifelike replicas to enhance their senses. Finally, I envision them having nanobots in their blood to make their muscles stronger and reinforce their bones. I do not agree with the idea of cyborgs having weapons built into their limbs because there would not be enough room for the moving parts of the limbs. However, this can be an exception for more specialized cyborgs.
In one of my future superhero I am thinking of including a cyborg of this kind. I am thinking of them being a type of police force, but nothing like Robocop. Instead, I am envisioning them to be more like the military police for fascist regimes. What do you think of this incarnation of cyborgs?
Here is the cover of my fantasy book, Numen the Slayer!
After six long months of thinking, I finally came up with a title for both my first fantasy book and the overall fantasy series. The overall series will be called the Magnus Dynasty Saga while the first book will be called Numen the Slayer. In addition, I got the work copyrighted and am on the lookout for potential beta readers. Finally, I hired an illustrator to do a cover illustration for Numen the Slayer and I am currently on standby. I am taking a whole new approach with this book than I did with any of my other books. I will keep you updated on any further developments.
As I continue to write the second volume of my fantasy series, I contemplate on how I should portray the outcome of the tournament that takes place in the beginning. The events will include jousting, melee, archery, and horse racing. Jousting is when two knights charge at one another with lances in an attempt to knock each other off their horse. Melee is when two knights battle one another into submission with weapons and shields. Archery is obvious because it involves shooting a target from hundreds of yards away. Finally, horse racing involves racing around a track five times. Based on these games and what they require, what kind of character would you want to win in each sport in the tournament? The reason I ask is because I am trying to figure out new characters to introduce to the story. Please share your thoughts. Thank you.
So far the Lannisters are winning in Season 7 of Game of Thrones, much to my disappointment. The Lannisters managed to destroy Daenerys Targaryen’s allies in Dorne, the Reach, and the Iron Islands as well as stranding her Unsullied in Casterly Rock. Now it looks like the Iron Bank of Braavos may side with the Lannisters, but only if they can pay the Iron Thrones’ debts. If the Iron Bank supports the Lannisters, there would be no stopping them because they would be able to pay for food, weapons, ships, and sellswords. Fortunately, Daenerys has yet to use her dragons and Dothraki, which she is clearly going to use in the next episode.
Right now, Jaime and the Lannister/Tarly army is marching back to King’s Landing with all the gold they plundered from Highgarden, which they plan to use to pay back the Iron Bank. However, that gold will never make it to King’s Landing because the Lannister/Tarly army is going to get ambushed by over one hundred thousand Dothraki backed by a dragon that is the size of a Boeing 747. It has been confirmed through a leak that the Lannister/Tarly army will be annihilated, which not only greatly diminishes the Lannister’s military strength but also prevents them from paying back the Iron Bank.
After this one battle, Daenerys will have achieved a crushing victory over the Lannisters for several reasons. First, with their land army gone, the Lannisters’ only military strength will consist of the garrison at King’s Landing and Euron Greyjoy’s Iron Fleet. Second, without the Highgarden gold to pay back the Iron Bank, the Lannisters will lose their support and the Iron Bank might support Daenerys instead. Third, without any allies from the Reach the people of King’s Landing and what is left of the Lannister’s army will starve especially since winter is here. If Daenerys does defeat the Lannister/Tarly army and intercepts the Highgarden gold, she will greatly cripple the Lannisters’ chances of winning the war to the point in which they cannot recover.
Overall, I am looking forward to the Lannisters getting their butts kicked as they face Robert Baratheon’s greatest fear: fighting the Dothraki on the open field. In addition, they will be the first Westerosi army to fight a dragon in over one hundred years. Up until now, Daenerys has been holding WAY back, but now the kid gloves are coming off next episode as the Lannisters witness the full power of Daenerys Targaryen! Before she died, Olenna Tyrell told Daenerys to be a dragon instead of a sheep if she hopes to rule Westeros. Next episode she will bring the Lannisters FIRE AND BLOOD!
Now that Disney has scrapped the Original Expanded Universe of Star Wars, the possibilities of new stories are limitless. Even though I can’t legally write and publish a Star Wars story, there is one scenario I hope Disney would explore in the future. Even though we have only seen glimpses and hints to the era of the Old Republic, I hope we get to see more of this age as time progresses. It may take a long time before we see it because Disney is focusing on the sequel trilogy, but I believe once they are done with it they can direct their attention elsewhere in the Star Wars Universe.
When Disney eventually gets to the Old Republic era, I hope one of their stories would be something like this. Imagine a backwater planet where no one has ever seen or heard of a Jedi or Sith. This would be before the rise of Darth Bane when the Sith were legion. On this planet a Jedi and Sith crash land on this planet after drifting away from a war. Then they slay one another in a lightsaber duel. However, their duel was seen by two childhood friends, who scavenge their lightsabers and the Sith’s mask. The more they expose themselves to these artifacts the more they realize they are Force sensitive.
Unfortunately, one of the friends starts turning to the dark side after frequently wearing the Sith mask and using the red lightsaber. Eventually, this individual becomes a crazed dark side wielding serial killer. The other friend who possesses the Jedi lightsaber decides to hunt down his former companion and end the killing spree. Throughout the story, the two friends utilize various light and dark side powers, but unlike fully trained Jedi and Sith their usage of the Force is basic, unstable, and unpredictable. This would be due to a lack of training and it shows with how they fight each other. Their lightsaber duels would be more like brawls than sword fights. Even their clothing would look more disorganized and haggard compared to traditional Jedi and Sith garb.
What do you think? Should Disney and Lucasfilm explore this story when the time comes? Do you think they will ever consider this scenario?
I am getting close to coming up with a title for my first fantasy book as well as a title for the overall series. I have quite a few potential ideas to use, but after a while I might have a winner. I will keep you updated in the next few days. Wish me luck!
