I like the Chimera because even though it is traditionally made from the parts of a goat, lion, and dragon, I like the idea of a chimera being any creature that is made parts from ANY animal. For example, you could combine parts from a lion, a bull, and a scorpion to create the chimera in question. What do you think? If you were to create a chimera for a fantasy story, what animal parts would you choose?

  1. I was actually reading a book last night where a (Traditional) Chimera came up, how coincidental! I like the idea of it not having to completely stick to its roots either. I quite like the idea of the Chimeras in Full Metal Alchemist (Human Beings mixed with an Animal)… That’s also a fairly cool spin. I really don’t know what a Chimera of my own creation would consist of though, but pretty sure Dragon would be in there somewhere!

  2. Ah yes, the Chimera. It’s one of my favourite fictional/mythical creatures. If it were my original, it would be a jaguar’s head, a vulture’s wings and a komodo dragon’s body. Not sure how that would work, but it’s a fantasy story so I can pretty much make it work (sort of).
