I have always been a fan of the element of fire to the point in which I gave one of my characters the ability to control it. This video, however, took my fascination to the extreme because this man wore a suit coated in a protective gel that would shield him from fire in one minute. Even though anyone can do this with the proper equipment, the heat of the flames can still be dangerous. This man was able to withstand temperatures up to 2500 degrees Fahrenheit in over one minute, which is higher than any person before him. This stunt has given me inspiration for the powers of the supervillain in my sequel series who will represent Wrath of the Seven Deadly Sins.

There has been a theory amongst Game of Thrones fans about Jon Snow’s heritage. They believe that Jon Snow’s real parents are Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, which would make Ned Stark his uncle, not his father. I agree with this theory based on the facts and clues that the books and the show provide. To begin with, one must understand Rhaegar Targaryen’s relationship with Ned Stark’s sister Lyanna.

Before the events of the books and show, Lyanna was abducted by Rhaegar, which was one of the catalysts that started Robert’s Rebellion. Then Rhaegar has three members of the Kingsguard, including their Lord Commander, watch over Lyanna at the Tower of Joy in Dorne.

The Kingsguard are sworn to protect the royal family so why would they guard a woman who is not of royal blood? The most obvious possibility is that Rhaegar secretly married Lyanna and impregnated her with an heir. If this is the case, then those three Kingsguard were posted there to guard their prince’s child, Jon. This would make Jon Snow Daenerys Targaryen’s nephew and only known living relative!

When Ned Stark and his bannermen went to rescue Lyanna, she was on the verge of death for currently unknown reasons. Based on the theory, it is possible Lyanna died of childbirth. This would explain what Lyanna meant when she said, “Promise me, Ned” when she spoke to her brother before she died. Her dying wish may have been for Ned Stark to take care of her son.

If this is the case, then Ned Stark may have made everyone believe that Jon was his bastard son in order to protect him from Robert Baratheon and the Lannisters. Since Robert Baratheon was obsessively in love with Lyanna, he would have tried to kill Jon and everyone else who got in his way. As for the Lannisters, Ned was probably thinking they would kill him like their bannermen did to Rhaegar’s other children.

The only other person besides Ned Stark who would know the truth about Jon’s heritage is Howland Reed. If he were to step forward and confess what really happened at the Tower of Joy, then it is possible that Jon Snow may have a claim to the Iron Throne now that his death freed him of his oath to the Night’s Watch. This claim would also be bolstered by the knowledge of the past, present, and future that Bran Stark acquired from the three-eyed raven.

Hopefully, the show will shed some light on this theory since the books are falling behind schedule. Either way, I hope this theory is correct and Jon cleanses the world in fire and blood as winter comes!

Another unique superpower that is featured in fiction is sound manipulation, which is the ability to control sound waves. One example is the sonic scream of Black Canary in DC Comics, which allows her to blow away her enemies. In this video, there is a man who is so skilled at controlling the sound waves of his voice that he can imitate countless musical instruments simultaneously! This skill earned him the nickname, the Human Orchestra. One of the powers that the main character in my sequel series will acquire is sound manipulation, which he will use to devastating effect.

I came across this video of a man in Algeria who can literally eat anything from glass to paper. His voracious appetite and ability to eat anything without hurting himself has given me some inspiration on one of the supervillains in my sequel series, specifically the one who represents Gluttony of the Seven Deadly Sins. Sometimes I am a voracious eater myself because I can eat a large meal within a matter of minutes and still be hungry afterwards.

One of the most common superhuman powers is the ability to possess superhuman reflexes. A chief example is Spider-Man, whose reflexes are further enhanced by his spider-sense. Another example is Adrian Veidt from Watchmen, whose reflexes were fast enough to catch a bullet with his bare hands. In this video, a sword wielder possesses real-life superhuman reflexes, being able to slice a bullet with a single swing! I am planning to draw inspiration from this video in order to create a superhero in my sequel series with inhuman reflexes.

One of the most intriguing works of nature is the concept of genetic mutation, which results in the creation of unique physical changes. I was thinking of drawing inspiration to this science because I considered what could happen if someone attempted to create man-made superhumans. Due to the unpredictable nature of genetics, I am thinking that these man-made superhumans would be physically and mentally imperfect, which would make them powerful yet unstable and uncontrollable. In my sequel series, I am thinking of placing these imperfect superhumans on a quarantined planet that exists outside of the interstellar government’s territory. The way I envision these beings is sending chills down my spine and I look forward to writing about them.

Wally DNA

I did a DNA test on my youngest pit bull, Wally and it turns out that he is 50% Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 12.5% Miniature Bull Terrier, 12.5% Bullmastiff, 12.5% English Bulldog, and 12.5% Mixed Breeds. This mixture explains a lot about Wally because many people we have met doubted that he was a pure-bred pit bull. Based on the results, Wally has the body of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the legs and tail of a Bullmastiff, the underbite of an English Bulldog, and the ears of a Miniature Bull Terrier. Because Wally and my other pit bull, Fitch, are so alike, it is possible they have the same genetic mixture. So, with all of these bully breeds in their DNA, they are more bully breed than bully breed.
