GAME OF THRONES REVIEW: SEVEN KINGDOMS

Westeros_HBO

After seeing events unfold throughout the Game of Thrones universe, I have reached a conclusion about the Seven Kingdoms. To paraphrase a brilliant Imperial fleet admiral from Star Wars, “The Seven Kingdoms became this ugly, inelegant machine. Crude and inefficient. They needed to be broken into pieces. They needed to get rid of those who want to see that old machine churning ineluctably forward. It’s time for something better. Something new.” I cannot think of a better analysis than this. When the aftermath of the War of the Five Kings, Daenerys’s conquest, and the Long Night are over, all of the unnecessary pieces that have crippled the Seven Kingdoms as a regime will be swept away and a new order will rise from the frozen ashes. Hopefully, by then they will finally understand how pathetic their little games are and become a more unified nation. Fingers crossed!

  1. I’ve got an admission: I have not been reading these posts – because I can’t get GoT on my cable. AND I’m just about to launch into the books: trying to avoid Spoilers!
