Among the various forms of inspiration I experience for my writing, traveling is one of my favorite forms because I actually get to savor the world outside of my hometown. In every location I visit, there is always something that grants me inspiration for me to apply in a future work. In some cases this inspirations could come from the most unlikely place. Last December, I travelled to the island of Kauai in Hawaii and its lush and tropical environment was a great experience to behold and gave me ideas for landscapes of the worlds that exist in my work. Later this month, I will be traveling to a location that is both exciting and somewhat exotic, but what this location is will remain a secret until I arrive. I have visited this place before five years ago and I swiftly discovered how it received its famous nickname. In fact, as a side story, the Young Guardians do visit this location sometime before the events of volume three and it cost them their original form of transportation. I will reveal more in the weeks to come.

Due to the success of my book signing during WonderCon 2015, my production team and I have started preparations for WonderCon 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.  Based on what is planned for this event, it looks like this book signing will be even bigger than the one I had this year.  In addition, I will have my second editions as well as a few short stories ready to present at the convention.  I look forward to this event and what it will unfold.  Wish me luck and I will keep you all updated.

I have completed editing the fifth chapter of the second edition of my first volume and started the sixth chapter as well.  In addition, I have completed the second chapter of my second short story and started the third chapter.  In the upcoming third chapter of the second short story, the main character will realize the extent of how the events in the third volume affected him while the supervillain plans his first move.  I must say that I am making very nice progress with my summer writing so far and I am looking forward to seeing how much I will get done by the end of the season.

I have made more progress with my summer writing and started the second chapter of my second short story. In this chapter, the main character is introduced and I must say that I rather like them. Their personality epitomizes the traditional fanboy as well as an idealist who wishes to make a difference. Also, the main character’s family has had ties with the Young Guardians in the past, but those ties will remain secret until the short story comes out. In addition, this chapter will illustrate how they gain their powers and where they were during the events of the third volume of the series, The Young Guardians and the Revelation Orb.

I have been thinking of including Tara in my series for a long time.  She is a special character because while I based most of my characters on one person I knew, I based Tara on two people I knew, one of which was my older sister.  Tara serves as a voice of reason and leader to her group before they join the Young Guardians.  However, before this, Tara was a prisoner of Vogan’s organization, who experimented on her along with a few others, which results in them gaining superhuman powers.  Tara and her group eventually escape from Vogan’s organization after three years in captivity and they seek shelter among the Young Guardians.  When figuring out Tara’s powers, I thought it would be interesting for the Young Guardians to have a speedster to the team.  With that in mind, Tara has the ability to move at a maximum speed of Mach 5.  If she goes beyond that speed limit, the extreme friction would cause catastrophic damage to her.  Tara appears in the third volume of my series, The Young Guardians and the Revelation Orb, and she will have a very personal connection with one of the main characters.

My summer writing continues!  I have just completed the first chapter of my second short story and am beginning the editing process of the fifth chapter of my first volume’s second edition.  I am pleased with the progress of the fifth chapter while my second short story’s first chapter has painted a chilling picture of the super villain’s origins.  Overall, my writing this season is already off to a good start and I am looking forward to continuing my work.

Now that I have finished my time in community college and am on summer vacation, I will be writing with a vengeance this season. In fact, today I have started editing the second edition of the first volume of my series and have completed the first four chapters! I am already pleased with the improvements and look forward to the final results. Also, I will be editing my upcoming short story as well as writing several other short stories. By my calculations, when Fall comes I will have an explosion of new works released, which is something that has never happened before in my writing career. So, as you can imagine, my career as an author is seriously heating up and I will keep you updated on any further developments.

Today, I graduate from both the Santa Ana College and the Santiago Canyon College!  With those out of the way, I will then transfer to Concordia University in the Fall.  In addition, this Summer is going to be a very busy time for my writing because I will be working on several short stories, my second editions, and fourth volume all in the same season.  I am eager to get started and to celebrate tonight with my family and loved ones.  We will be going to a seafood restaurant with an ocean sunset.

This morning, I have completed my first full-length screenplay! It felt great to be able to do something I never did before and add something different to my writing arsenal. I also believe that this experience will allow me to write screenplay versions of my books so that I can one day make them into films! Wish me luck and I will keep you updated on any further developments.
