For the longest time, I have been a fan of Star Wars, one of the greatest franchises ever created by man. When I first watched Episode IV, I was amazed by the concepts that were used to make this masterpiece. I noticed a number of religious elements in the story, such as when Obi-Wan Kenobi said to Darth Vader: “You can’t win Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” That iconic quote made me think of life after death and resurrection. As for Luke Skywalker, he demonstrated that even a person coming from the most humble of origins can change the course of history, which was illustrated when Luke destroyed the Death Star, an action that robbed the Galactic Empire of one of its most powerful weapons. It is a powerful strong revolving around coming-of-age, courage, and fighting against the iron fist of tyranny. I would recommend this film to anyone looking for a good science fiction story.
My favorite film of all time. This was what got me interested in cinema altogether. Great review
As you might be able to guess from my avatar, I love these films. Star Wars will forever take its place as the film that had my dreaming of the stars and galaxies far, far away for more entire life. It’s fired my imagination with more stories and day dreams than any other film or book I can think of. I can’t wait to introduce it to my children when they are finally old enough so they too may be able to fall in love with Star Wars as well.
Really like this quote : “You can’t win Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
My fave film, its brilliant 😀
Back when I watched it, it was episode One!! Guess that was a long time ago 😉 I saw it in the cinema and was completely unprepared for the special effects. At the time, they were eye-poppingly amazing. One of my favorites for its myth and magic.
One of my favorites, also. But I have to point out that it’s space fantasy, not science fiction. Not trying nitpick, but its just not.
This is definitely my favorite Star Wars film. The big fight between Luke and Vader in the sequel was awesome of course, but this one was a masterpiece. The visuals hold up to this day and it was very well written
But I don’t like Luke’s hair!
